The property that has become Touchstone Inn was acquired by the present owners in 1983 and has had extensive updating as far as the utilitarian aspect goes with every effort being made to retain the integrity of the original design elements and ambiance that makes Touchstone Inn one of the last visages of old Taos. Taos Mountain is our back yard.
Touchstone is many things to many people. The native peoples consider this place called Touchstone to be medicine land, and a place for transformation. At Touchstone Inn, we cater to couples as a romantic getaway and to groups and families as a retreat center. Sheltered among tall trees along the Taos Pueblo lands, at river’s edge, Touchstone Inn offers the tranquility of intimate patios, cozy rooms with fireplaces, Jacuzzi tubs, and superb gourmet natural foods served at intimate tables. The serene atmosphere of Touchstone provides the perfect scene for a garden massage or wedding with outdoor arch and candelabras to enhance the chosen site of the ceremony. Guests enjoy exploring secret gardens, walking the labyrinth and relaxing year-round in comfy hammocks. Home and studio of artist and writer, Bren Price, Touchstone Inn offers the perfect interface for workshops of all kinds. The gallery which features the works of Price is open by appointment. Her original works and reproductions of Oriental and Southwestern images can be viewed at http://www.brenprice.com, or by going to the Artwork page on this site.
